KAUNAS PHOTO

A lovely surprise - picked from an international selection of photographers to display my work at the 2016 Kaunas Photo festival in Lithuania.

The criteria was an urban theme, mine submitted was entitled "Urban Mangle".

The festival is across the whole year, encompassing various galleries and exhibition spaces, including outdoor displays and eclectic and obscure venues.

As they say in loose translated English: "

2016 Festival, the summer - autumn period to the exhibition in the following areas:

MK Čiurlionis Art Museum, M.Žilinskas Art Gallery will open a major exhibition of the festival "street value". Exhibition curated content will be presenting 30 - 40 photographs of works series, revealing the best and summarizing public space theme. The exhibition will consist of only the most significant, the most pressing issues addressed with emphasis on contemporary photography. The exhibition of the festival who might head Mindaugas Kavaliauskas and Lithuanian philosopher, cultural critic, public character - Leonidas Donskis .

Gallery Art Form " will open the exhibition" Volunteers ", which will be exhibited in the" flaneur "project of residences Savanoriųpr to create works. The exhibition will consist of a series of photographs of these authors: Sergiy Lebedynskyy (Ukraine / Germany), Henrik Duncker(Finland), Mariusz FORECKI (Poland), Caravan Gallery (UK), Darius Kuzmickas (Lithuania / USA). The exhibition will be accompanied by the same name "Volunteers" catalog.

Kaunas Photography Gallery -  KAUNAS PHOTO STAR 2016 winner of the exhibition. The author will be selected by remote viewing and published in late summer.

KAUNAS PHOTO 2016 festival exhibition also opened in the Kaunas city spaces: Gallery Art Park, Žaliakalnis funicular F Gallery, Vitebsk and Silainiu libraries, VII, Fort and Kaunas district spaces: Ežerėlio, Vilkija, Raudondvario cultural centers, Kaunas District Museum ( Raudondvaris manor).
